SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS HELIOT RAMOS WINS THE JOSE URIBE AWARD

One day after The Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame, President and Founder Gabriel(Tito) Avila Jr. presented Heliot Ramos with the José Uribe Award, Heliot made history on Sunday. He hit the first-ever home run to McCovey Cove and into the water for a right-handed hitter in the history of Oracle Park. It was a 100-mile-per-hour fastball that the 25-year-old Puerto Rico native hit into the water. Also, it was an even more incredible honor for Ramos, who did something nobody had done before, during Roberto Clemente Day at the Park, honoring another great Puerto Rican player, Giant Orlando Cepeda, the famous #30 for the Giants.

Heliot Ramos is hitting  .267 with 21 home runs and 68 runs batted in. Only Matt Chapman has more home runs (24) and runs batted in (76) than Ramos in the 2024 Giants.

The Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame representatives were at Oracle Park including Gabriel (Tito) Avila Jr, President and Founder, Amaury Pi-González, Vice President and Co-Founder. Orlando Cepeda’s family members and the one and only Juan Marichal, the best pitcher who never won a Cy Young.

Celebrating Hispanic Month in the United States, the most significant minority, with (at least) 65 million Hispanic people, according to the most recent US Census.
