YANKEES BOAST MVP CONTENDERS, CAN THEY DELIVER A TITLE?
by: Victor Suarez
Spring training buzz crackles around the Yankees, fueled by lofty expectations after a forgettable 2023. The goal? Recapture past glory and challenge for a World Series.
Key to their success? Health and peak performance from their star players. Adding slugger Juan Soto to a lineup already featuring Aaron Judge, arguably the league’s best, makes the Yankees a force to be reckoned with offensively.
Both Judge and Soto are MVP frontrunners, ranking #2 and #4 respectively on MLB.com’s list. It’s no surprise: Judge already has an MVP and Soto, hungry for his first, enters a contract year with a history of rising to the occasion. Judge, despite last season’s injury-shortened campaign, remains a top-five contender.
With Shohei Ohtani out of the AL, the MVP race is wide open. Soto’s pressure intensifies in Yankee Stadium, but his track record suggests he thrives under scrutiny. Judge, barring another injury, seems destined for another top-five finish.
The talent is there. The excuses are gone. The Yankees have the firepower to win a World Series. Now, it’s up to them to execute and deliver.
