YANKEE STORY: GIANCARLO STANTON

Giancarlo Stanton is a professional baseball player who currently plays for the New York Yankees. He was born on November 8, 1989, in Panorama City, California. Stanton attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, where he played baseball and football.

In 2007, Stanton was selected by the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins) in the second round of the MLB draft. He made his debut with the Marlins in 2010 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in the game. Over the next several years, Stanton developed into one of the most feared power hitters in baseball, winning the NL Hank Aaron Award in 2014 and the NL MVP Award in 2017.

In December 2017, Stanton was traded to the New York Yankees in a blockbuster deal. He struggled with injuries during his first season in the Bronx but bounced back in 2019 with 38 home runs and 100 RBIs. Stanton had another strong season in 2020, hitting .308 with four home runs in the postseason to help lead the Yankees to the ALCS.

Off the field, Stanton is known for his charitable work, particularly with children’s organizations. He also has a passion for art and is an accomplished painter.
