CARIBBEAN WORLD SERIES 2026

This past Sunday, February 1st, was the Grammy Awards with everyone getting ready for the Super Bowl which is February 8th between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. The Winter Olympics are also approaching. Yet for this reporter its the Caribbean World Series 2026 I want to focus on!

There is joy one gets to see mainly Latin American countries and Caribbean Islands participating with no politics! It’s just baseball! You’’ll hear the beautiful sounds of music from Bomba, Merengue, Rumba, Marachi, and Bachata. It is fun to watch the team uniforms that are so stylish. It’s almost like watching a LATIN PARADE in New York City when one sees the floats, marching bands, and dance groups. 

This year the groups participating are as Wikipedia stated: “This year the 2026 Caribbean Series is the 68th edition of the Caribbean Series club baseball tournament, scheduled from 1 to 7 February 2026, at the Estadio Panamericano de Béisbol in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. This year here are the teams participating Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and special guest Panama. The original choice was for the tournament to take place in Venezuela.”

Yet due to the political turmoil taking place in Venezuela it was suggested the tournament be shifted to Mexico. To add Venezuela will not be participating in the tournament. 

That hurts because this series is about fun and unity. One would love to see the other countries Cuba and Venezuela participate put politics aside! Let’s play ball!!!! A little enjoyment before the Major League 2026 baseball season.
