FEBRUARY – DOMINICAN HERITAGE MONTH! THEIR 23RD CARIBBEAN WORLD SERIES TITLE!
by: Ismael Nunez
A pitching duel, defensive plays, leaving men on base. That’s what people saw in the 2025 Caribbean World Series Championship between Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The Dominican Republic won the 2025 Caribbean Series with a 1-0 win over Mexico
.It’s their 23rd Caribbean Series title.
One expected to see a lot of hits yet both just managed to get no more than 5 hits. To add Dominican Republic scored just one in the third Inning. Former Major League star second baseman hit into a double play with bases loaded and one run scored and that’s all she wrote.
Leones starter Esmil Rogers and the relief pitching of Joe Corbett, Ulises Joaquin and Jimmy Cordero of Dominican pitching staff did all the work, throwing a one-hitter against the team Mexico.
There were several highlights former Mexican Boxing Champion Julio Ceasar Chavez through the first ball, and future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols managed team Dominican Republic to victory. Future manager? There’s a saying “great players don’t become good managers” we just have to see.
