YANKEE STORY: DJ LEMAHIEU

DJ LeMahieu is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a second baseman for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on July 13, 1988, in Visalia, California, USA.
LeMahieu began his career at Louisiana State University, where he played college baseball for three years. In 2009, he was named an All-American and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2009 MLB draft.
After playing with the Cubs for a few years, LeMahieu was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 2011. During his time with the Rockies, he emerged as one of the best second basemen in the league, winning a National League batting title in 2016 with a .348 batting average.
n 2019, LeMahieu signed a two-year contract with the New York Yankees, where he quickly established himself as one of the team’s most valuable players. He hit .327 with 26 home runs and 102 RBIs, earning his second career All-Star selection and finishing fourth in the American League MVP voting.
