Amaury Pi-Gonzalez, born in Havana, Cuba one of the most recognizable voice in Major League Baseball has been a Major League play by play announcer since 1975.
One of the pioneers of Spanish sports broadcasting in the United States, Amaury has called World Series for the United States and Latin American networks, twice broadcasted in English the Carribean World Series for Fox International Television. For 6 years was sports anchor for Telemundo Network KSTS channel 48 in San Jose, California. With the Golden State Warriors Amaury was the fifth announcer in NBA history to do Spanish radio play by play basketball games. His articles and columns in English and Spanish are seen on the Internet in various sites as well as bilingual newspapers in the U.S. and Latinametica.
In 2003, 2004, and 2005 Amaury’s biography was selected and publishes in the prestigious Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World. Also inducted into the CSHOF (Cuban Sports Hall of Fame) in Miami, Florida in 2004 and into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame in the same year. Amaury was Treasurer for HHBM and currently is the Vice President.
